A CO-OPERATIVE DECADE IN ACTION 

ICA Global Conference and General Assembly will be held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) in Cape Town (South Africa) during the week of 1-5 November 2013. This will be the first time in ICA's 118 year history that it will be held in Africa. The ICA Conference and General Assembly will be followed by the ICMIF 2013 Conference on 6-8 November 2013 also in Cape Town.

For reasons of solidarity, the ICA is offering a reduced registration fee for delegates located in Africa.

FREE PLACES FOR GROUP BOOKINGS

If you register 10 FULL FEE paying participants, the REGISTRATION FEE for the eleventh delegate is WAIVED. If you register 22 FULL FEE paying participants, then the REGISTRATION FEE for the 21st and 22nd delegates is WAIVED. In order to take advantage of this group booking discount, you must register your whole delegation as a single group.

THE PROGRAMME

The programme will start with statutory meetings of ICA bodies and then move into the main conference. The theme of the conference is A Co-operative Decade in Action. The exciting programme will be built around the Blueprint for a Co-operative Decade, which aims to take co-operatives to a position of being the preferred model and as a result the fastest-growing form of enterprise by 2020. 

As well as the statutory meetings there will be a series of themed workshops: 

THEME A - Food security and sustainable supply chains

THEME B - Access to community services

THEME C - The Power of communication

THEME D - At the forefront of a new economic age

THEME E - Building knowledge

During the week there will also be a number of booths selling co-operative books and goods, providing information about co-operatives, showcases, and a number of other side meetings.
